We are happy to welcome Charles Cunningham to the YRCI Contracts Team. Charles brings extensive “hands on” experience and expertise encompassing 15+ years in Federal Government Contracting and Subcontracting, as well as applying his paralegal knowledge and expertise in support of an established Virginia Law firm.

NOAA Team Member of the Month 2-1-2018 NOAA Team Member of the Month
YRCI HRROC Chief Staffing Specialist, William (Bill) Roscoe steals the spotlight as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Team Member of the Month. NOAA’s Deputy Under Secretary for Operations says, “Bill is committed to ensuring that NOAA hires the best and the brightest, and engages personally across NOAA to bring innovative, strategic approaches to hiring, with notable success. Over the past 2 years, Bill and his team have worked on nearly 1000 employment actions and reviewed more than 82,000 applications, resulting in hundreds of new hires. Bill leads, coaches, and trains a cadre of Human Resources (HR) specialists who work with NOAA hiring managers and HR Business Advisors to identify the right mix of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities for vacant positions. In a unique approach, Bill staffed his unit with recent science graduates and trained them in HR disciplines, leading to a cadre of HR specialists that understand and meet hiring managers’ unique needs. An avid supporter of employment opportunities for veterans and individuals with disabilities, Bill ensures that each job announcement provides a level playing field for all. Recruiter of the Year 1-30-2018 Recruiter of the Year
Joe Graves joined the YRCI recruiting department in January 2017. During his first year he has shown exceptional growth and expert knowledge in recruiting. He was recently promoted from Recruiter to Senior Recruiter based on stellar performance. He continues to lead by example and exceeded his monthly and yearly goals. Joe continues to go out of his way to not only help his teammates but also lend a hand to people in other departments. It is with great pleasure that we announce Joe as our 2017 Recruiter of the Year!

SSLC 1-24-2018 Participation with the Shared Services Leadership Coalition (SSLC)
YRCI is proud to announce our continued participation, sponsorship, and board role in the Shared Services Leadership Coalition (SSLC) in 2018. On January 24, 2018, YRCI is participating in the SSLC board meeting and the annual SSLC membership meeting and reception. The coalition consists of 26 member organizations who are both large and small businesses as well as other industry associations focused on “good government”. Some attendees YRCI include Chairman, John Jaeger; VP of Program Development, Hans Jaeger; and Director of Program Development, Renee Courtland.

YRCI, an operator of shared services management, supports dozens of clients and endorses the mission and goals of the SSLC. Their mission “advocates that the Federal Government accelerate implementation of modernized Shared Service business models to reduce costs and improve performance of common administrative and mission related functions on behalf of the public interest in competent, cost-effective 21st Century government.” Their goal “is to enact legislation to codify and accelerate progress in “good government” Shared Services initiatives with the potential to realize annual savings of over $50 Billion in government administrative costs and substantial improvements in services, employee morale and government mission performance.”

1-8-2018 YRCI Welcomes Mark Mohler - Senior Capture Manager
Mark joined the YRCI family this month. Mark is a subject matter expert (SME) in the capture of federal and defense services programs with more than 10 years’ experience delivering critical wins on priority programs for large and small businesses. As a former member of the Senior Executive Service (SES), Mark served as Assistant Deputy DON Chief Information Officer (Navy); Director of Force Planning in OSD; Deputy for Programming in OPNAV; and Deputy for Networks Integration and Transformation in OPNAV. His major awards include the Department of the Navy Superior Civilian Service Medal for the transformation of its enterprise information technology initiatives and the Secretary of Defense Medal for Meritorious Civilian Service for enhancements to the DoD strategic acquisition planning process. Mark is Program Management Institute PMP-certified since 2008 and holds an active TS Clearance. He graduated from the US Merchant Marine Academy with a dual major in engineering and transportation and from SUNY at Stony Brook with master’s degree in applied math and statistics. Mark will serve as the Senior Capture Manager for YRCI and we look forward to all his knowledge and expertise he brings to the table.

Cooley 1-5-2018 Richard Cooley’s Retirement
Rick Cooley joined YRCI February 2003 as our first “real” federal HR person. He truly taught us how to do it, what was different between federal HR and commercial HR, and helped us win a lot of work over the years. He has performed as an individual contributor, project manager, proposal content SME, and many other roles. He has been a superstar!! Without Rick we would not be who we are today. We want to thank Rick for his service with YRCI and for all the other wonderful people he brought to our YRCI family. We hope he can enjoy this time in the non-working world and continue to enjoy his large family of 7 children and 36 grandchildren (soon to be 38)! Thank you for a job well done!

As part of the continued investment in YRCI’s future, we have upgraded key infrastructure systems to provide us with more robust capabilities and improved efficiencies. The new systems are: Deltek Costpoint, Time & Expense (T&E), and Talent Management.

12-30-2017 The Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB)
CAFB and YRCI have been community partners for more than 10 years. Since 2004 YRCI has donated more than $1.3 million and supported CAFB for their Urban Demonstration Garden Groundbreaking, Fill the Bowl Challenge, and our own Jeans for Beans program in which all proceeds were donated to CAFB.

It may be hard to imagine that there are children, senior citizens and families, in every community across our region, who do not have enough food to eat (including neighbors). We are very proud of our year over year support of this program and are grateful for the many employees who have made donations to the CAFB.

Last year, the CAFB distributed 42 million pounds of food — a third of which are fruits and vegetables. Working together with their network of over 500 community partners, the CAFB provided 35 million meals to children, seniors and families experiencing hunger.

CAFB 9-19-2017 Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA)
YRCI has partnered with PVA since 2015. Founded in 1946, PVA is a congressionally chartered veterans service organization who has developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of veterans of the armed forces who have experienced a spinal cord injury, dysfunction, or neuromuscular impairment. The Executive Advisor of YRCI, Gil Smith, is a member of PVA and sits on PVA’s Mission-ABLE committee as the 2017 Co-Chair. YRCI is a sponsor of the PVA mission.

PVA held its 12th annual Mission: ABLE Awards September 19, 2017 at Trump International Hotel in D.C., where about 480 guests set record attendance, to include several members of YRCI leadership team, for the yearly event. This year, it raised a record $750,000 for the organization (Washington Business Journal, The Back Page, Vol. 36, No. 25).
